Portland Trip
Went to Oregon recently for a trip back home. It was a much needed trip more mentally than anything really and I am so glad to be able to see family & friends. Home cooked Shepard Pie from my Grandma and of course my cousin Lisa who loves making the healthier side of good food! The weather was good for the most part but of course it rained. My grandfather is not in the best of shape & health but I again saw him reading. I think he is on his 10,000th book, no lie.

I remember going to EveryDayMusic downtown and in SE PDX to drop off flyers buy albums/cds and still have my Miles Davis & Beastie Boys poster from there. The music scene has changed a bit but is still rich in rock, blues and your occasional hiphop here and there. Portland Officials have done a GREAT job getting the "urban music" out of the city, thats for sure.

I stopped by the Nike Factory store of course and was tempted, very tempted to buy some sneakers to bring back to NJ, but just didn't find anything that made my heart skip a beat. Knowing I'm a Puma/Adidas girl it takes a lot for me to bust out cash for any other brands. But took a pic or two for my sneaker collector back home who was on the verge of a Dunk Exchange. I am always about making $$$.

My cousin Lisa made some really good home made pizza including homemade sauce. There was some things on it that I don't normally put on pizza especially in NYC I usually go for the cheese slice with peppers, tomato and basil! But here whole wheat crust, vegetables & fruit combination just worked!
OH and I did stop at my favorite Mexican spot on Alberta La Seranita's !!
The chicken tacos, black beans & rice with sides of guac and sc were taken over to my girl Toni Hill's house so I could catch up with her and her lil baby who is extremely adorable.
Thanks PDX, Canby, St. Paul, Salem and in between for reminding me of whats real,
why I moved and who I am!!!
